Sigma, Inc. is seeking a QA/Lab Technician for a 12-month contract opportunity with our client in River Falls, WI. This position is ideal for candidates with a Chemistry degree or equivalent education and hands-on experience working in a chemical or chemistry laboratory environment.

The QA/Lab Technician will support lab-scale product batch preparation, stability testing, performance testing, laboratory equipment operation, documentation, and quality activities while following established laboratory procedures and safety requirements.

QA/Lab Technician Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of test product batches at laboratory scale.
  • Perform stability and performance testing using standard chemistry laboratory equipment.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, testing methods, and technical instructions.
  • Apply proper laboratory techniques to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Operate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation associated with product batches and testing units.
  • Record test results and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support quality assurance and laboratory testing activities as assigned.
  • Perform general laboratory cleaning and housekeeping duties.
  • Wash and clean laboratory equipment, glassware, and other materials as required.
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and established chemical handling requirements.
  • Communicate test results, observations, and issues effectively to team members and supervisors.
  • Meet established testing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent education/experience.
  • 0–5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience working in a chemical or chemistry laboratory environment.
  • Experience operating standard chemistry laboratory equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and established laboratory methods.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple laboratory assignments.
  • Methodical and systematic approach to laboratory work.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to accurately understand, record, and communicate detailed information.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and compliance with all applicable safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with emulsions is a plus.
  • Experience with stability testing, performance testing, or laboratory-scale batch preparation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a QA, QC, product testing, or analytical laboratory environment is beneficial.
