Role : QA Engineer with strong Automation Testing expertise

Rate: $80/hr to $82/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with strong Automation Testing expertise to support the quality assurance of enterprise-grade Appian applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating Appian workflows, business rules, interfaces, integrations, and end-to-end business processes while working closely with customer stakeholders, business users, developers, and project teams.
This is a client-facing onsite role requiring excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills in addition to strong testing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Appian-based applications.
- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, System, End-to-End, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Validate Appian workflows, process models, business rules, records, reports, interfaces, and integrations.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios.
- Create and maintain automation test suites using Selenium or similar automation frameworks.
- Perform API and integration testing for Appian applications and connected enterprise systems.
- Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and support resolution efforts.
- Work closely with Appian developers, business analysts, product owners, and customer teams to ensure quality deliverables.
- Support production releases, smoke testing, and post-deployment validation activities.
- Provide regular status updates and quality metrics to customer stakeholders and project leadership.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Software QA and Testing with enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and automation framework development.
- Fair understanding of Appian platform components including:
- Process Models
- Workflows
- Business Rules
- Records
- Reports
- SAIL Interfaces
- Integrations
- Experience in testing Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow-driven applications.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Strong SQL skills for backend data validation and testing.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Ability to work directly with customer stakeholders and business users.
- Comfortable leading requirement clarification sessions and QA discussions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present testing results, quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience coordinating with onsite and offshore teams.
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing Appian applications in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or other enterprise domains.
- Exposure to Appian development concepts and Appian certifications is a plus.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and continuous testing practices.
- Knowledge of performance and security testing methodologies is desirable.
