QA Engineer

Senior SDET / QA Automation Engineer – TypeScript
San Diego (San Marcos) or Vancouver, Canada - onsite

We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET with strong TypeScript development skills.

This is a code-heavy role. We are not looking for someone who only writes automation scripts. You need to be comfortable writing, reviewing, debugging, and designing TypeScript code at a software-engineering level.

What You’ll Do

• Build automation frameworks from scratch in TypeScript
• Develop automation across Web, Mobile, and Desktop
• Write, review, and debug production-quality TypeScript code
• Build test automation closely integrated with the game/application environment
• Design test cases, coverage, and Shift-Left quality strategies
• Review unfamiliar code, identify issues, and troubleshoot failures
• Apply OOP principles and software design patterns
• Perform API, SQL, performance, and cross-platform testing
• Work closely with developers, product, and design teams
• Mentor other QA engineers and help improve overall quality practices

What You Need

• 5+ years of QA Automation / SDET experience
• Strong hands-on TypeScript software-development experience
• Ability to explain the difference between scripting and software development — and demonstrate the latter
• Strong OOP fundamentals: abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism
• Knowledge of design patterns such as Factory, Singleton, Strategy, Observer, MVC, and Page Object
• Strong code-reading, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Experience building automation frameworks, not just maintaining existing scripts
• Playwright experience
• Appium or equivalent mobile automation
• API testing and strong SQL skills
• CI/CD experience
• Experience testing across Web, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac

Nice to Have

• Gaming or interactive product experience
• Cucumber/Gherkin
• JMeter or LoadRunner
• Java automation experience
• Experience building QA processes from the ground up
