Job Summary: Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed | Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates | Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions | Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs Impact of the Role:

General Profile

  • Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions:
  • Verify employees are following standards set by the company, industry regulators, and government agencies.
  • Inspect products and services during all stages of production.
  • Write reports to share observations about compliance and recommend changing the systems and processes as necessary.
  • Calibrate quality control measures to make sure they function properly.
  • Identify ways to improve existing processes and systems to improve quality and consistency.
  • Support employees understanding of regulations, follow procedures, and work within systems.
    • Required Qualifications:
      • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Engineering Degree or equivalent training and experience
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research skills. Problem-solving skills. Leadership skills.
      Physical Requirements:
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.
      • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
