QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional, integration, system, and end-to-end (E2E) testing to verify system functionality, component interactions, and complete user workflows against business Requirements
• Perform regression testing after each build/release to ensure previously worked functionality remains intact and defects have not recurred.
• Create and maintain comprehensive test cases and a regression test suite; use a risk-based testing approach to prioritize critical scenarios.
• Perform UI testing for Web applications and API testing to validate REST/SOAP services, request/response payloads, and API contracts.
• Log and track defects through their lifecycle, perform defect verification, re-testing, and provide root-cause analysis.
• Code and troubleshoot Java code on a daily basis.
• Help ensure the test plan properly aligns with business requirements by participating in software design and review sessions.
• Develop configurable, maintainable, reusable, and dependable test automation components.
• Execute the test plan, record and report results, assist with analyzing test results, and provide root-cause analysis for problems encountered during testing.
• Prepare and acquire test data and conduct peer review of test work products.
• Assist with set-up and maintenance of test environments; development of test case automation criteria; and set-up and check-out of test environments; prepare architecture diagrams.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining test environments.
• Assist with developing test case automation criteria and preparing architecture diagrams.
• Support manual testers with automation needs and determine which manual test cases need to be converted to automation scripts; this may include executing manual test cases as needed and to gain knowledge of the application functionality.
• Prepare for and take part in testing activities for production deployments and remediation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of Quality Assurance Engineer experience and understanding of the software development lifecycle and the importance of the QA function within the framework.
• Must have experience with the Playwright automation Framework using Java, experience with UFT and VBScript, and functional testing experience.
• Must have experience with API automation using Java REST Assured or similar frameworks, and hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
• Experience with test management tools including XRAY or similar tools for test case management, execution, and traceability.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies including Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, and Behavior-Driven Development.
• Working knowledge of test case management and execution using test management tools.
• Experience implementing and auditing automated test methodology and QA standards.
