Akkodis is seeking a QA Automation engineer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will drive quality across the software development lifecycle by designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, and end-to-end workflows.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $41/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
QA Automation engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, database, and end-to-end testing using Playwright, Python, and/or TypeScript.
Create, execute, and optimize automated test suites to support functional, integration, regression, and progression testing across complex applications.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab to enable continuous quality validation.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and stabilize flaky tests by implementing robust synchronization strategies, dynamic data handling, retries, and parallel test execution techniques.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with business requirements.
Drive quality engineering best practices by performing root cause analysis, validating release readiness, improving test framework scalability, and promoting quality ownership throughout the SDLC.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering.
Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright, Python and/or TypeScript, UI/API/Database automation, and designing scalable test automation frameworks.
Proven experience with CI/CD integration, parallel test execution, flaky test stabilization, end-to-end workflow automation, and Agile/Scrum delivery environments with a quality-first mindset.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $41.00 per hour
