    Job Description:
    • Revises and improves existing Python code and data operations for efficiency and integration into lab information management system (LIMS), STARLIMS. Writes, revises, and verifies standards for quality program based on EPA chemistry test methods understanding the use of accuracy and reproducibility data that validate test results. Review and design features for efficient laboratory operation. Reviews new or modified programs,including documentation and specifications, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines. Recommends program improvements or corrections to programmers. Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
    • The QAC also will do in-depth review of chemistry data packages for Indiana Dept of Environmental Management, Lead & Healthy Homes, EPA, and FDA packages for the Laboratory Flexible Funding Model grant as well as reviewing all chemistry procedures for method deviations from published methods and evaluate chemical inventory systems. A goal also is to validate Excel spreadsheets that are used for analytical calculations and review annual competencies of 25 chemists for about 60 methods.
    EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
    • Quality Assurance Analyst capabilities with approximately 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

    Required / Desired Skills:
    • Ability to Communicate with both chemists and program developers
    • Collaborated with IT and development teams to support implementation and validation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
    • Participated in system testing, identifying defects and recommending improvements to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
    • Conducted detailed reviews of analytical data packages to ensure compliance with regulatory standards including EPA, FDA, and state environmental pr
    • Verified completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting guidelines for externally submitted laboratory results.
    • Ensured full traceability and integrity of laboratory data by maintaining validated electronic records and consistent documentation practices.
    • Reviewed system outputs and audit trails to confirm data accuracy and compliance with quality assurance standards.
