Overview

We are seeking a Senior AWS Python Application Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale data and application solutions in a cloud-native AWS environment. This role will be responsible for building scalable applications, processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data, leading technical initiatives, and collaborating closely with product owners and engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings strong Python development experience, deep AWS expertise, and a proven track record delivering complex applications throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product owners, architects, and development teams to define technical requirements, user stories, and solution designs.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable applications and data processing solutions in AWS.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural best practices, and business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in production environments, providing timely support and maintenance.
  • Lead technical initiatives and projects from design through implementation with minimal supervision.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across development teams.
  • Utilize DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, deployment, and release management.
  • Ensure high-quality code delivery through comprehensive unit testing and software development best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of software development experience with enterprise-scale applications.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and Amazon EMR.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying applications within AWS.
  • Strong experience processing and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and enterprise software development methodologies.
  • Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
