We're looking for a Python & AI Solutions Developer to join a risk technology team supporting a large financial services organization's credit risk function. This role focuses on scaling existing automation and AI tools, building document processing pipelines, and moving proof-of-concept work into production in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment. It's a great opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys building real production solutions and working directly with business stakeholders.

What You'll Contribute

  • Enhance, scale, and support existing AI and automation tools used in credit risk workflows
  • Take Python proof-of-concept projects into stable, production-ready solutions
  • Build data pipelines that process large volumes of structured and unstructured data
  • Develop document ingestion and extraction workflows across PDFs, HTML, images, and spreadsheets
  • Integrate large language models through APIs (OpenAI or similar) to automate repetitive manual work
  • Build in exception handling, logging, and guardrails so production scripts fail safely
  • Design outputs that are structured, traceable, and ready for review and governance
  • Estimate LLM usage and token costs to support the business case for new tools
  • Partner with business and risk stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and gather requirements
  • Explain technical solutions and results clearly to non-technical audiences

Background We're Seeking

  • 7 to 15 years of hands-on software or data development experience
  • Strong production Python experience, including writing, deploying, and supporting scripts and pipelines in a live environment
  • Experience extracting structured data from complex documents such as PDFs and HTML
  • Experience working with LLMs through APIs, including prompt design, model selection, and protecting sensitive data
  • Comfortable working independently in an unstructured environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working alongside business teams
  • Financial services, credit risk, or audit experience is a plus but not required
  • Alteryx, ETL, or Power BI experience is a plus
  • Able to work onsite in New York a few days per week
