Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic Purchasing Specialist to lead procurement activities and supplier relationships across multiple locations. This individual will play a key role in managing the full purchasing lifecycle, from identifying and qualifying new suppliers to developing RFPs, negotiating contracts, and overseeing supplier performance.

The ideal candidate brings strong end-to-end contract negotiation experience, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple sites. This is an opportunity for a results-driven procurement professional who can identify cost savings, build strategic supplier partnerships, and drive purchasing efficiencies throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full procurement and sourcing process, including supplier identification, qualification, evaluation, selection, and onboarding.

  • Manage end-to-end contract negotiations, including pricing, terms and conditions, service-level agreements, and vendor agreements.

  • Develop, prepare, and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs), evaluate supplier responses, and present recommendations to leadership.

  • Identify, research, and develop relationships with new suppliers to improve quality, pricing, service, and overall procurement capabilities.

  • Manage multiple purchasing projects simultaneously across multiple facilities and locations.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and site leadership to understand purchasing needs, establish requirements, and ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives.

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contractual agreements to maximize cost savings and value.

  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve escalated issues, and ensure vendors meet established expectations.

  • Analyze spending, market conditions, and supplier performance to identify cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal business partners.

  • Establish consistent procurement processes and purchasing strategies across multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field preferred.

  • Significant experience in strategic purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the complete contract negotiation process from initial sourcing through final execution.

  • Strong background developing and managing RFPs and evaluating supplier proposals.

  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, and establish relationships with new suppliers.

  • Experience managing multiple projects, purchasing initiatives, and supplier relationships across multiple facilities.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing or ERP systems.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strategic and proactive procurement professional who can operate independently, take ownership of the entire purchasing process, and confidently negotiate favorable agreements. They must be comfortable working with multiple locations, balancing competing projects, and partnering with leadership and operations to drive meaningful cost savings and operational improvements.
