    Reports to:           Sr. VP, Operational Excellence & Supply Chain

    Job Summary 
    The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services necessary for the production and installation of doors, frames, and hardware. This role involves working closely with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. 

    Duties/Responsibilities 

    Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
     
    • Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships. 
    • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services. 
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials. 
    • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and other procurement documents. 
    • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing. 
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. 
    • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to procurement and supplier performance. 
    • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities. 
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data. 
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on procurement status and performance. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Minimum Requirements 
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, preferred. 
    • Three (3) years’ experience in procurement or purchasing within the doors, frames, and hardware industry. 
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills. 
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
