    Overall Purpose: The Purchasing/Production Planner selects and negotiates with approved vendors to place purchase orders in response to product requirements. The Purchasing/Production Planner interfaces between the manufacturing/operations, purchasing planning and inventory control functions to determine the most efficient Production Plan to ensure inventory for finished goods is maintained at a level specified by management.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Prepare the Production Plan based on forecast and promotional requirements, as well as company inventory guidelines
    • Negotiate price, delivery terms and production time lines with current suppliers and vendors
    • Identify cost savings
    • Develop new suppliers as required
    • Write Job Travelers and Purchase Orders
    • Ensure all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) dates are maintained and updated
    • Ensure desired MRP quantities are properly documented and orders for materials are placed in a timely manner
    • Ensure components and services are available in a timely manner as required for production
    • Ensure the required capacities are reserved to meet required production demand
    • Coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel to solve problems related to the Production Schedule, such as material shortage status, rejection, scrap, re-work, etc.
    • Prepare manufacturing plan to meet demand requirements
    • Analyze material shortages, review order progress and adjust plans and schedules
    • Maintain excellent team-oriented working relationships among all Hydraflow employees
    • Recommend alternative materials management and planning strategies to management
    • Maintain good manufacturing practice guidelines and behaviors
    • Adhere to 5S Standards
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

    Other Duties:

    • Other duties based on the needs of the Production Control Department
