Purchasing & Production Associate

Solicit pricing from vendors, produce purchase orders and arrange incoming freight where necessary, and follow up regarding estimated time of delivery. Job Title: Purchasing & Production Associate
Location: Baltimore, MD 21226 (onsite)
Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities

• Run reports daily to understand which raw materials and packaging supplies must be ordered to maintain the proper inventory levels.
• Solicit pricing from vendors, produce purchase orders and arrange incoming freight where necessary, and follow up regarding estimated time of delivery.
• Process receiving paperwork and sign off on all billing statements.
• Produce all transfer tickets and arrange freight between the public warehouse and our factory.
• Review the less than minimum reports for finished goods and determine which products need to be scheduled for production.
• Create the corresponding batch tickets, sizing the batches based upon the size of mixing vessels/hoppers and the quantity to be manufactured.
• Produce all transfers of bulk storage finished goods into units for sale.
• Work with the Plant Manager and Customer Service to develop a production schedule based upon open customer orders.
• Close all batch tickets accurately.
• Orchestrate monthly rolling inventory with the Plant Manager.
• Produce and send all billing statements daily.
• Trained on CFR 49 regarding proper labeling requirements for finished goods as well as paperwork such as the Bill of Lading.
• Manage consign stock customer inventory reports and associated billing.
• Manage all customer and vendor price lists.
• Enter sales orders and solicit freight rates for outgoing shipments.
• Assist with customer service tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education
• 2-3 years related experience and/or training
• Minimum of 1 year billing experience
• 2-3 years experience with Microsoft Office and Excel
• Ability to learn new computer skills quickly
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, goal oriented, and the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong work ethic
