About the role

Credo is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support procurement operations for its rapidly expanding Applications Labs and associated development teams. The role centers on ensuring timely sourcing of goods and services, streamlining purchasing processes, and maintaining cost-effective operations while upholding vendor relationships and internal compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a keen eye for process efficiency, and the ability to coordinate effectively across teams to keep procurement running smoothly. Onsite position in San Jose, CA.

Base salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities including creating purchase requests, tracking orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring timely receipt of goods for Applications and Hardware Development teams.
  • Support the development, documentation, and implementation of procurement and purchasing workflows for Lab Operations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal purchasing policies, including partial tax certificate issuance, prepayment approval processes, vendor onboarding, and management of proforma invoices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of purchases, contracts, repairs, pricing, vendor communications, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist with equipment repair management, calibration scheduling, and procurement of rental equipment as needed.
  • Support asset tagging for newly acquired equipment valued over $5,000 USD.
  • Collaborate with Lab Operations and Applications teams to support general lab activities as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or related operational role.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, vendor management, and supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with internal purchasing policies and compliance procedures.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with purchasing software, particularly Coupa.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Prior experience supporting procurement workflows in a lab or hardware development environment.
