    Purchasing Assistant


    Asheboro, NC | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


    Graham Personnel Services is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant for a growing manufacturing company in Asheboro. This role will support purchasing, inventory control, order tracking, vendor communication, and reporting functions while helping ensure materials are available to support production needs.


    The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, purchasing or inventory experience, and advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, vendors, inventory, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

    Responsibilities

    • Create and process purchase orders for raw materials, supplies, and operational items
    • Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors regarding delivery schedules
    • Communicate inventory and purchasing updates with internal departments
    • Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system
    • Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and investigate inventory discrepancies
    • Receive materials into the system and verify receipt accuracy
    • Process vendor invoices and coordinate with Accounts Payable
    • Request supplier quotes and assist with pricing comparisons
    • Maintain vendor files, purchasing records, and inventory documentation
    • Generate inventory, receiving, and purchasing reports
    • Maintain Excel spreadsheets and inventory tracking records
    • Support inventory audits and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
    • Assist with special projects as assigned by management 

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
      • Purchasing
      • Procurement
      • Inventory Control
      • Inventory Management
      • Materials Coordination
      • Order Processing
      • Supply Chain Support
      • Manufacturing Administration
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Excellent data entry and recordkeeping abilities
    • Experience with vendor communication and supplier coordination
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
    • Experience with ERP or inventory management software preferred
    • IQMS experience is a plus
    • Power BI experience is a plus
