Purchasing & Logistics Agent

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Agent to manage purchasing activities, inventory levels, supplier relationships, and domestic/international logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience coordinating shipments and vendors, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and maintain purchasing records
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate deliveries to support production schedules
- Resolve issues related to shortages, damaged goods, and order discrepancies
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including transportation arrangements and shipment tracking
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, invoices, bills of lading, export/import documents, and related records
- Communicate with customers, vendors, freight carriers, and overseas partners to ensure timely delivery
- Analyze purchasing costs and freight expenses to support cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain accurate shipment and purchasing files while providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- ERP system experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of logistics systems and transportation processes
- Basic understanding of international shipping regulations and documentation
- Some college preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
