Description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Punch Press Set Up Operators for a Metal Stamping client in Garland, TX. The Punch Press Set Up Operators is responsible with having hands-on experience with setting up progressive dies and operating V&O, Minster, and Komatsu presses with capacities of up to 200 tons. This position requires a highly skilled professional who can effectively set up presses, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the production of high-quality stamped parts in a quality driven manufacturing environment.  SURESTAFF is invested in their team members!  All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $20-$25 as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision).  Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire.   Available shifts include Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Overtime is available on a first come, first serve basis.   Responsibilities of the Punch Press Set Up Operators: 
  • Set up, adjust, and operate V&O, Minster, and Komatsu punch presses, including those up to 200 tons in capacity.
  • Perform tooling changeovers, install and adjust progressive dies, and draw dies, and ensure proper alignment and functionality of tooling.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Inspect parts and finished products for quality, ensuring they meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Operate in an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and tooling issues, coordinating with maintenance personnel as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Follow production schedules, ensuring timely completion of orders and minimizing downtime.
  • Document set-up procedures, tool changes, and machine conditions to ensure consistency and ease of future operations.
  • Assist in training new operators and providing guidance on machine operation and troubleshooting.
 Required Qualifications of the Punch Press Set Up Operators:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating and setting up V&O, Minster, and Komatsu punch presses (up to 200 tons).
  • Strong understanding of metal stamping processes, tooling, and die setup.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues related to press machines.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on producing high-quality stamped parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or training in machining, metalworking, or related fields is a plus).
