Punch Press Die-Setting Operator (Level II)

Can you read intermediate blueprints and verify them with a micrometer or calipers?
When a die scuffs parts, do you dig into root cause and partner with Toolroom/Maintenance?

What you’ll tackle
Interpret blueprints, routings, and work instructions
Independently set up and run small stamping presses for quality and throughput
Install basic tooling, prep presses, and stage all required materials
Use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to confirm specs
Learn to perform root cause analysis on die/press problems; coordinate repairs
Recommend process improvements to boost quality and efficiency
Inspect materials and finished parts to ensure conformance
Identify and label materials accurately with tags/labels
Complete routine maintenance; maintain an orderly work area
Document setups and work instructions for consistency
Enter production and quality data into the data collection system
Follow all safety procedures and compliance guidelines
Collaborate with the team to meet schedules and delivery dates
Other related duties as assigned
What you bring
Troubleshooting skills and experience with machine setups for production runs
Excellent communication and a collaborative approach
Blueprint reading capability (intermediate level)
Familiarity with punch press operation and die setting
Focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Education & experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
1+ year in metal fabrication or closely related work
Press operation experience preferred
Physical capabilities
Visual and auditory ability, including close/distance/peripheral/depth/focus adjustment
Frequent standing, walking, and movement during the shift
Frequent hand use for handling, reaching, and equipment operation
Endurance for repetitive tasks and long periods of focus
Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
