    Location: Altoona, Pennsylvania

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician to join an established multidisciplinary team in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

    This position combines outpatient pulmonary medicine with Critical Care/ICU rotations, providing the opportunity to treat patients with a broad range of general and advanced pulmonary disorders while also delivering high-acuity critical care.

    The physician will have access to advanced pulmonary technology, including routine and robotic bronchoscopy and EBUS, along with strong APP, intensivist, and Interventional Radiology support.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with general and advanced pulmonary conditions.
    • Provide outpatient pulmonary care and participate in scheduled ICU rotations.
    • Manage critically ill patients as part of a multidisciplinary critical care team.
    • Perform pulmonary procedures including:
      • Routine bronchoscopy
      • Robotic bronchoscopy
      • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
    • Evaluate patients requiring advanced pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
    • Collaborate with Interventional Radiology for CT-guided lung biopsies and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis.
    • Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans for patients with acute and chronic pulmonary diseases.
    • Collaborate with APPs, intensivists, respiratory therapists, interventional specialists, and other medical and surgical professionals.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and clinical decision-making.
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
    • Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based pulmonary and critical care practices.
    • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across outpatient and inpatient settings.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
    • Completion of fellowship training in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.
    • Training and competency in bronchoscopy and other standard pulmonary procedures.
    • Experience with or interest in robotic bronchoscopy and EBUS preferred.
    • Experience managing critically ill patients in an ICU setting.
    • Current Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to starting.
    • Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges and credentialing.
    • Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary pulmonary and critical care team.
    • Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care.
