Pullet (Chick) Caretaker VALO BioMedia is a global supplier of Vaccine Eggs used in the production of human and animal vaccines and in pharmaceutical research. It is our clear goal to build and maintain long-term partnerships with established planning and supply procedures to ensure security and quality of supply for SPF Eggs and pullets at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The pullet caretaker helps the production manager with several duties. Some of the primary responsibilities of this position are: - Performing blood draws and weighing of birds weekly
- Bird Husbandry
- Assisting with pullet loadouts
- Minor repair and maintenance
- Maintain files and quality documentation
- Help maintain farm changing room organization as well as general farm and hatchery housekeeping
Reports directly to the Production Manager. - High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in poultry operations, biological production, manufacturing, or regulated environments preferred.
- Experience working in environments requiring strict SOP adherence strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Technical Skills - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based systems.

Language & Communication Skills - Ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs, safety rules, and technical documents.

Work Environment & Exposure - Exposure to poultry environments and agricultural settings.

- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strict adherence to biosecurity entry/exit procedures required.
Desired Qualifications - Experience in SPF, poultry, hatchery, laboratory, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with biosecurity-driven operations.
- Experience working under quality management systems.
Early start time (4-5am some days), 30 to 40 hours a week, with weekends paying time and a half. Expectation of working 6 days a week.
