The City of Inver Grove Heights, (pop. 36,984) is seeking its next Public Works Director. This position provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for three divisions: Engineering, Streets, and Utilities (Water, Sewer, and Stormwater), encompassing 34 full-time, 2 part-time and 12 seasonal employees. The Department's 2026 operating budget of $17.7 million and 5-year capital improvement budget of $107 million support the maintenance, operation, and improvement of the City's infrastructure, including 10 miles of street and utility improvements each year through the Pavement Management Program. Other major initiatives underway include the citywide water meter replacement program, rehabilitation of the North Water Tower, and continued planning for a new Central Maintenance Facility.
