About this role: As a Public Safety Officer, you''ll be a visible, trusted presence at the heart of downtown Spokane. You''ll help keep River Park Square, West 809, and 600 buildings safe and welcoming for the thousands of patrons and employees who rely on them every day - responding to situations with confidence, professionalism, and care. This is an active, highly mobile security position. Officers spend most of each shift standing and walking throughout a large, multi-building property, patrolling parking garages, stairwells, back-of-house areas, exterior perimeters and, occasionally, roof areas. Officers must be able to:
Each officer has their own patrol and post responsibilities, and we look for people who are confident working independently. But no one here works alone. Officers stay in constant radio contact, respond together, and back each other up whenever a situation calls for it. When things get difficult, you''ll have a team right behind you.
River Park Square is a busy downtown property, and no two shifts are the same. Officers regularly handle rule violations, trespassing, disruptive behavior, behavioral-health crises and other situations that call for sound judgment, clear communication and skilled de-escalation. The work is challenging, and we want you to know that up front. We also want you to know that you''ll be supported by experienced teammates who handle these situations together every day.
