Public Safety Dispatcher (PT)

Compensation Range:

$18.58 - $28.31

Position Summary:

Hiring Salary Range: $18.58 to $20.43 depending on qualifications.

The Dispatcher serves as a Telecommunicator 24/7/365 in the Central Dispatch Center protecting the college enterprise as the primary point of contact for the Department of Public Safety.

Job Duties:

Examples of general job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Receives and processes 7911 emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the college population.
• Entering data into records management system/computer aided dispatch (CAD).
• Monitors the college-wide security camera system, analyzes video input, and determines the proper response to conditions or situations.
• Interacts with Tampa, Hillsborough County and Plant City 9-1-1 operators in processing emergency service requests.
• Logs the nature and source of all incoming and outgoing radio messages.
• Assists law enforcement officers and other officials in the recovery and analysis of archived records.
• Coordinating campus notifications to college leadership and representatives of various departments for response, mitigation, and recovery.
• Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's degree and one year of prior related experience

First Aid and CPR/AED required within 30 days after hire

Preferred Qualifications:

Customer service-related experience with phone etiquette
