Goldberg Segalla has an immediate opportunity for a Public Relations and Social Media Writer in its Buffalo office.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Relations & Social Media Writer develops compelling content that elevates the firm’s visibility, reputation, and strategic marketing objectives. This role collects, creates, and refines content for a variety of channels including firm website news, social media platforms, thought leadership initiatives, media campaigns, award submissions, case summaries, and client communications. The ideal candidate is a versatile and productive writer who can efficiently transform complex legal and business topics into engaging, client-focused content. They are comfortable leveraging emerging technologies and AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity, accelerate content development, and support the creation of high-quality written assets while maintaining strong editorial judgment and brand standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
 
  • Author a high volume of content across digital and traditional channels, including social media posts, website announcements, thought leadership summaries, emails, blogs, client alerts, award submissions, case win announcements, and related communications
  • Leverage AI-assisted content creation, editing, research, and workflow tools to efficiently produce, refine, and repurpose content across multiple audiences and platforms while maintaining accuracy, quality, and alignment with firm standards
  • Write and distribute news releases, media pitches, and other related PR content and postings
  • Research and develop content to support the firm’s thought leadership and marketing priorities
  • Assist the Public Relations and Media Coordinator in securing earned media placements in appropriate media outlets and industry publications
  • Interview attorneys as needed to debrief thought leadership, case wins, profiles, and draft award submissions
  • Support efficient proofreading and editing of alerts, blogs, case studies, and other thought leadership assets including content review, approval, posting and emails
  • Other projects and department support as required and requested

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English
  • Experience creating engaging and compelling content that translates complex business, technical, or legal concepts for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted writing, editing, research, or content development tools to improve productivity and content effectiveness while applying strong editorial judgment
  • Social media savvy and an understanding of what works on each platform
  • Fluency with MS Office Suite including Word and PowerPoint
  • Portfolio of content demonstrating writing acumen, including varied writing samples
  • Skilled editor, proofreader, and content developer
     
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
  • Content creation experience within the legal or professional services industry
  • Microsoft Teams collaboration experience
  • Asana project management experience
  • WordPress/web authoring tool experience
  • Multimedia Development & Visual Storytelling experience
  • Familiarity with design best practices, techniques and trends

The salary range for this position is $50,000- $57,000/ year. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers a full benefits package.
