About the Position
This non-state service, time-limited position serves as the Program Manager for the Northeast Mississippi Healthy Start Enhanced Perinatal Project. The Program Manager will be accountable for supervising other project staff (i.e. social workers, community health workers). At this level, the Program Manager will hire and/or make recommendations to hire staff; provide training; be involved in work planning, assignments, and review; and provide performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. He/She will monitor processes and activities carried out by project staff, periodically reviewing case management plans and referrals for services. He/She will plan, coordinate, and facilitate staff/team meetings. Conduct on-going planning activities as needed for overall Healthy Staff program. Coordinate the establishment of staff enrichment and training programs to support staff roles. Collaborate with the federal HRSA project officer and auxiliary federal staff as needed. Participate in the development and implementation of all necessary systems to support Healthy Start Project activities including policy and procedure development, record keeping, and/or reporting. The Program Manager will provide information to various groups regarding the Healthy Start Project, make presentations, and network with other resources and professionals. Will act as lead and resource person for the project. Conduct regular site visits and provides support to staff throughout the 6-county catchment area. The Program Manager will assist the Principal Investigator with monitoring Healthy Start project budget and conducts overall performance monitoring activities for the program. He/She will also ensure all HRSA data requirements are being met. The Program Manager also attends and/or participates in community-based consortium convenings as needed.
