    Description

    1 Public Health Program Specialist
    1 Public Health Program Supervisor

    Location :- Remote work is allowed for both the PHP Specialist and Supervisor.
    However, the staff must be Missouri based as they must report to DHSS main campus upon request and will travel to various locations throughout Missouri.

    Required qualifications/skills
    The agency must have experience working with Missouri's public health system (DHSS and local public health agencies) at least 5 years
    The agency must have established relationships with Missouri's local public health agencies
    The agency must be able to complete and provide results of standard background check with the Missouri Highway Patrol to DHSS.
    The agency must have the ability to meet with DHSS staff virtually or in person as requested on a regular basis (to be determined) to communicate about the project and staffing.
    The agency must schedule the handling of interviews. DHSS staff will participate in the PHP Supervisor interviews and will determine in collaboration with the agency whether participation in interviews for the other position is needed.

    The applicant should have the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing to diverse individuals with widely varying levels of technical skills
    The applicant should have the ability to present information to diverse groups
    The applicant should have the ability to represent the Missouri DHSS to key stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner
    The applicant should have the ability to quickly learn and use technical applications
    The applicant should have the ability to provide responsive customer service to diverse individuals
    The applicant should have the ability to utilize communication software such as MS Teams, WebEx, etc., to communicate with stakeholders and others
    The applicant should have the ability to understand and follow DHSS policies and procedures as applicable to work performed
    The applicant should have the ability to navigate and use network drives for shared work
    The applicant should attend and be punctual for all scheduled meetings and trainings.
    The applicant should have the ability to utilize own transportation to travel to DHSS offices and training locations throughout Missouri
    The applicant should have the ability to cover travel expenses up front until reimbursement is received from the hiring agency, unless other arrangements are made by the hiring agency.
    The applicant should have the ability to meet with DHSS staff virtually and in person as requested.
    Public Health Program Supervisor:
    The applicant should have the ability to supervise a team of 1 staff to ensure that project deliverables are met
    The applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively with DHSS staff and staff of local public health agencies on project goals
    The applicant should have the ability to apply project management principles to meet project expectations and timelines
    The applicant should have the ability to develop processes for the team's activities and perform quality improvement activities to continually enhance customer service
    The applicant should have the ability to work in a transparent manner in collaboration with the Center for Local Public Health Services Director

    Preferred qualifications/skills
    The applicant should have a basic understanding of systems mapping components.
    The applicant should have a basic understanding of public health services and the potential variety of provisions for service delivery
    The applicant should have the ability to develop clear and concise tools for collecting systems mapping data
    The applicant should have the ability to develop training support materials such as PowerPoint presentations, guidance documents, etc.
    The applicant should have the ability to effectively communicate information to individuals and/or groups through

    Type of Employment:-
    These are part-time positions (20 hours per week or a total of 1,040 hours within 12 months)

    Work Schedule: Days and hours to be worked:-
    Meetings with DHSS and external partners will be required during normal business hours 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Work done in preparation for deadlines, meetings and/or trainings can be on a flexible schedule, to be discussed and approved by DHSS Center for Local Public Health Services Director.

    Weekend or evening work required?
    Possibly. Traveling or specific situations may require working beyond the regular business day of 8am-5pm.
