Public Health Marketing Coordinator (Contract)

Are you passionate about using marketing and communications to make a meaningful impact in local communities? We are seeking a Public Health Marketing Coordinator to support statewide public health initiatives through strategic marketing, digital communications, community outreach, and stakeholder engagement.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with public health leaders, communications professionals, and community partners to develop campaigns that increase awareness, improve engagement, and promote important health services across Tennessee.

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Contract with potential for extension
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid
  • Location: Nashville, Tennessee
  • Residency Requirement:Candidates must currently reside in the state of Tennessee. All contractors must be Tennessee residents prior to their start date.
  • Travel: Up to 25% travel throughout Tennessee may be required
  • Pay Rate:$37.00 - $39.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workgroups with state and regional leadership to develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate marketing content requests and submissions within established timelines.
  • Develop, update, and maintain website content for regional and local programs, services, and events.
  • Design and coordinate printed and digital marketing materials while ensuring compliance with branding and communication standards.
  • Collaborate with public health teams to develop culturally relevant outreach and educational materials.
  • Support initiatives that address public health misinformation, build community trust, and improve awareness of available services.
  • Ensure communications meet branding, accessibility, and messaging standards.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen community engagement efforts.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase outreach and community impact.
  • Partner with external advertising agencies to support the development and execution of marketing campaigns.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience developing marketing strategies and managing digital communications initiatives.
  • Experience creating content for websites, social media, print materials, and other communication channels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with website content management systems, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Experience with website management and content administration.
  • Knowledge of public health communications, community engagement, or healthcare outreach initiatives.
  • Experience creating educational or awareness campaigns for diverse audiences.
