POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Finance Transaction Specialist supports Jackson Walker's Public Finance practice group by managing transactional processes. This role assists with document preparation, scheduling, coordinates the Attorney General approval process, and manages the transaction, and ensures accuracy and professionalism throughout the transaction process.
The Specialist works collaboratively with attorneys, directors, consultants, and external organizations to deliver high-quality client service. This position requires strong organization, attention to detail, and familiarity with public finance procedures in Texas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transaction & Document Preparation
•
Prepare required bond documents, certificates, notices and related items, and assemble them into transcripts of proceedings.
•
Assist in submitting bond materials to the Texas Attorney General for review and approval.
•
Handle preparation and filing of UCCs, 8038s, required statutory notices, etc.
•
Manage deal closings, including document distribution, data rooms or drop box management, etc.
•
Assist with the preparation of election documents, required election notices, and related election matters.
•
Assist with special projects involving election matters, bond development matters, and other special projects.
Regulatory & Compliance Support
•
Review new rules issued by the Texas Attorney General, the Texas Legislature, and all other applicable regulatory bodies and communicate updates and their impacts on transactions to Public Finance team members.
•
File annual continuing disclosure documents pursuant to SEC Rule 15c2-12, and other applicable reporting forms such as BRB forms.
•
Ensure all filings meet compliance, accuracy, and documentation standards.

Client & Attorney Support
•
Participate with Public Finance team members on transactions as an additional point of contact for the team and coordinate the documentation for complex transactions, including coordinating document revisions and distributions to the deal working group.
•
Assist with the scheduling and management of individual transactions with the responsible Public Finance team member.
•
Assist Public Finance team members with various projects, including research, mining data from EMMA, the MAC, and related sources.
•
Provide responsive, professional communication to internal and external stakeholders Public Finance Team & Project Support
Additional Responsibilities
•
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Public Finance team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
•
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
•
Prior experience supporting public finance, government entities, or regulatory work is a plus.
•
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
•
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
•
Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and document management systems (iManage preferred).
•
Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software and web-based systems.
WORK CONDITIONS: This position operates in a professional office environment with standard equipment. Work may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to meet deadlines. The role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
