Public Area Attendant/Houseperson Position

Position Summary

Hotel Emma is seeking passionate, service-driven candidates for a combined Public Areas Attendant / Houseperson position. The Public Areas Attendant role is the primary assignment and focuses on cleaning and servicing the hotel's public areas. The Houseperson role is a secondary, as-needed assignment that supports Room Attendants, linen movement, room preparation, deliveries, and other housekeeping operations when scheduled or directed by management.

Assignment and Flexible-Hours Expectations

  • Public Areas Attendant is the priority assignment. The associate's regular and primary responsibility is to clean, service, and maintain assigned public spaces and work areas to Hotel Emma standards.
  • Primary duties must be completed first. Public-area cleaning, inspections, restroom servicing, guest assistance, deliveries, supply replenishment, and related responsibilities take priority unless management provides different direction.
  • Houseperson is not a guaranteed daily assignment. Houseperson work is assigned only when needed and may vary according to occupancy, staffing, room activity, and operational needs.
  • Management communicates Houseperson assignments. The associate performs Houseperson duties only when scheduled, requested, or reassigned by a manager or supervisor.
  • Flexible hours are required for both assignments. The associate must be available for AM or PM shifts, weekends, holidays, and schedule changes based on business demands.
  • Business needs may change during the shift. Management may move the associate between Public Areas Attendant and Houseperson duties; however, Public Areas Attendant remains the primary job assignment.
