Job Summary

Work at the Densman Clinic and at our Human Resources department at City Hall! Make an impact on employee health and wellbeing by helping the City of Grand Prairie plan, promote, and support engaging wellness programs that encourage healthier lifestyles across our workforce. This part-time position is an employee-benefits-focused wellness role. The Wellness Coordinator supports City employees by coordinating wellness education, benefits navigation, vendor-led programs, and engagement initiatives. This role emphasizes program planning, employee communication, insurance-related wellness resources, and event coordination. If you think you fit this role, apply with us today!

Must be available to work a flexible part-time schedule during standard business hours, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, based on program and event needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and maintain wellness initiatives and programs as they pertain to the City's employee benefits.

  • Create and execute employee communications about wellness programming and upcoming activities.

  • Provide in-person and virtual training to employees about their wellness programs and available wellness resources.

  • Oversee our Benefits and Wellness Education program. Implement educational activities, such as lunch and learn seminars, on-site screenings, and vendor-led sessions.

  • Lead, plan and execute the annual Benefits and Wellness Fair including vendor coordination, scheduling, and event logistics.

  • Track and provide reporting on employee participation in wellness activities and programs and identify participation trends.

  • Identify ways to enhance programs to increase employee participation and support improved program outcomes.

  • Lead the wellness committee to increase employee engagement and assist with implementation and communication of initiatives by guiding committee planning and discussions.

  • Establish relationships with internal departments to increase involvement in wellness components and strengthen organizational support.

  • Track wellness expenses and ensure budget expectations are met. Make budget recommendations regarding wellness initiatives/programs based on participation and program needs.

  • Analyze data and/or reports collected from Wellness programs. Periodically present on the status of programs and make recommendations.

  • Maintain proper records and reports as required in accordance with City standards.

  • Keep abreast of new wellness opportunities and industry best practices.

  • Develop a network of resources and contacts to strengthen programming and knowledge and leverage partnerships for additional offerings.

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously.

  • Regular and dependable attendance is required.

All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Three years of experience coordinating, planning, and managing wellness programs, health initiatives, or similar programming.

  • Licenses: Valid Texas Class C Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with employee benefits and wellness programs.

  • Background in benefits administration, health education, or wellness programs.

  • Experience planning employee events, fairs, or educational seminars

  • Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable working across departments.

Additional Information

This position does NOT involve:

  • Personal training or fitness coaching

  • Leading exercise classes or gym-based instruction

  • One-on-one physical training plans

Instead, it focuses on:

  • Wellness program development and management.

  • Presenting and educating employees on wellness and benefits.

  • Planning and executing wellness education and events.
