What You’ll Do
  • Provide independent nursing interventions, emphasizing health promotion and management of mental health conditions
  • Diagnose, prescribe pharmacological treatments, and implement non-pharmacological therapies
  • Review and interpret lab results, monitor medications, and educate patients on treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate patient care
  • Support quality assurance and utilization management efforts
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for patients, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations
What You Need
Required:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and advanced practitioner licensure in Iowa
  • Certified as a clinical specialist/NP by ANCC or accepted certifying body
  • Minimum three years related clinical experience
  • Knowledge of mental health assessment, psychotropic medications, and legal statutes related to mental health care
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills

Preferred:
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Knowledge of managed care concepts and practices
