    Summary

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Patient Access Services Lead / Financial Counselor to support and lead the daily operations of Patient Access Services. This role is responsible for overseeing registration processes, up-front and point-of-service (POS) collections, cash handling, and financial counseling. The Lead will serve as a key resource for staff and patients, ensuring efficient workflows, excellent customer service, and accurate data collection.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and support daily front-line operations of Patient Access Services.
    • Conduct professional patient interviews to obtain demographic, financial, and biographical information.
    • Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations.
    • Oversee and participate in cash collections, up-front payments, and POS transactions.
    • Provide financial counseling to patients regarding insurance, coverage, and payment options.
    • Work closely with the Patient Access Manager to ensure effective departmental performance and compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Promote a culture of quality, service excellence, and patient-centered care.

    Education:

    • High school diploma or GED required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required.
    • Prefer at least 2 years of clerical experience with proficiency in Microsoft Windows.

    Other Requirements:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must complete the required Patient Access Services training and pass the competency exam with a score of 90% or higher.
    • Strong computer and data entry skills.
    • Ability to multitask, think critically, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
