POSITION: School Psychologist or Social Worker (Part-Time, .45 FTE)
Putnam High School is seeking an innovative, motivated, and collaborative School Psychologist or School Social Worker for a part-time (.45) position. This role plays a vital part in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and mental health needs of our high school students, preparing them for post-secondary success. The ideal candidate will utilize a strong knowledge base, advanced assessment techniques, and evidence-based interventions to work directly with adolescents and their families while serving as a critical liaison between the school and community agencies.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct Support& Counseling: Provide clinical behavioral and social-emotional support, including individual and small-group counseling, to help high school and special education students build coping strategies and access the learning environment.
- Crisis & Attendance Intervention: Serve as an active member of the crisis management and attendance teams to proactively support student well-being and family engagement.
- IEP & BIP Implementation: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and a BCBA to implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Transition Planning: Assist students with executive functioning, organization, self-advocacy, and post-secondary or graduation planning.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with school staff, administration, and community providers to maintain a consistent, therapeutic, and inclusive environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification: Valid Connecticut Certification 070 (School Psychologist) OR 071 (School Social Worker), or documented eligibility for the same, is required.
- Adolescent & Family Support: Demonstrated knowledge of high school student development, mental health challenges, and effective interventions, with a proven ability to work empathetically and inclusively with teenagers and families.
START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year
RATE OF PAY:Based on contractual requirements
