    The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at OU Health Campus and OU Health Inc., are seeking a licensed clinical psychologist with training and experience in psychosocial oncology to join the Psych Oncology Clinic team at OU Health Stephenson Cancer center.


    The licensed psychologist (or license-eligible psychologist) in the State of Oklahoma will provide care as part of our growing healthcare system and will be an essential part of the interdisciplinary team at OU Health by providing assessment, treatment, and consultation for individuals with behavioral health needs that may be associated with their health conditions.


    Psychologist I-(0-3 years) of experience

    Psychologist II-(3-5 years) of experience

    Psychologist III-(5+ years) of experience

    Clinical Responsibilities

    • Provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting to adult cancer patients with a broad range of psychiatric and psychosocial concerns.
    • Conduct psychological and brief cognitive assessment
    • Provide consultation to interdisciplinary team members
    • Participate in professional in-service and instruction
    • Collaborate regularly with interdisciplinary team members
    • Assist with care coordination to support patient's engagement in healthcare and positive health outcomes

    Academic & Teach Responsibilities


    • Supervise and mentor psychology practicum students, interns, and residents
    • Become a member of the psychology training faculty within for OU Health Campus three APA-accredited training programs
    • Provide didactic instruction for psychology interns and residents as well as other GME health professional trainees and medical students.
    • Opportunities to participate in curriculum development and education initiatives

    Scholarly & Program Development


    • Carry out novel research projects in psychosocial oncology
    • Contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives, care innovation, and programs that improve access to behavioral health care in Oncology

    Ideal Candidate


    • PhD or PsyD, license or eligible for licensure in Oklahoma
    • Training and experience working with cancer patients in active treatment, post-treatment, and on palliative course
    • Passion for expanding access to high-quality mental health care to cancer patients
    • Knowledgeable in evidence-based interventions for sleep, chronic pain, motivational enhancement, and common mental health conditions
    • Experience with measurement-based care including brief mental health, cognitive, and substance use screenings
    • Interest in academic medicine, teaching, and collaboration
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Experience with Sexual Health Counseling a bonus
      Experience with psychosocial evaluations for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Provide high-quality behavioral health services to patients with a variety of psychological and medical conditions within the OU Health system.
    • Provide consultation to other healthcare professionals regarding the psychological aspects of a patient’s mental health condition, medical condition, or hospitalization.
    • Attend and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in team rounds, didactics, and meetings.
    • Provide supervision to psychology practicum students, interns, and post-doctoral residents.
    • May participate in a variety of academic opportunities, including clinical research and education of trainees in psychology and other medical disciplines.
    • May participate in program development opportunities based on the specific needs of the clinical service. 

    General Responsibilities

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education Requirements

    • Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.): Psychology (Required).
       

    Experience Requirements

    • Completion of a predoctoral, APA-accredited internship required.
    • Specialized training in psychology, including a postdoctoral residency/fellowship required.
    • Psychologists employed at a Children's facility must have demonstrated experience working with Adolescents and Youth. 
    • 5 or more years’ experience, including postdoctoral training, required.

    License/Certification/Registration Requirements

    • Licensed as a psychologist in the State of Oklahoma required. 

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements

    • Be eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
    • Have knowledge of evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation. 
    • Have an interest in training/supervision of trainees in psychology and other disciplines.
    • Have experience in research, program development, and/or quality improvement.
