Psychologist

Liberty Healthcare’s program operates within multiple county jail facilities throughout California and exclusively serves inmates who have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial due to mental illness. The goal of the program is to provide rapid mental health services to people in need - so they may achieve improved behavioral health outcomes as quickly as possible.

Psychologists are encouraged to consider a full-time position with Liberty Healthcare’s multi-site forensic mental health program in California.

Program overview

Liberty Healthcare’s program operates within multiple county jail facilities throughout California and exclusively serves inmates who have been determined to be incompetent to stand trial due to mental illness.

The goal of the program is to provide rapid mental health services to people in need - so they may achieve improved behavioral health outcomes as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities

• Assessing clients

• Crisis intervention

• Providing direct clinical services to clients

• Participating in case conferences and meetings

• Collaborating with clinicians, psychiatrists, and ancillary staff

• Conducting competency evaluations and writing reports

Work setting

This is a remote position which will allow you to work from your home office within California.

Schedule

You will work Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

Pay and benefits

• Starting salary between $110,000 and $120,000 (depending on experience)

Qualifications

You must be licensed professionally in California as a Psychologist and reside within California.

Forensic Psychology training and / or experience serving people who are justice-involved is preferred but not required.
