| Job Description: | The Opportunity The Student Health Care Center at the University of Florida is seeking a psychiatrist to join the Student Health psychiatry team which includes MDs and psychiatric Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The is a full-time (1.0 FTE) non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor faculty position and will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive psychiatric care to UF students facing diverse mental health challenges, including general mental health disorders, trauma, eating disorders, and substance abuse disorders. Additionally, the role includes maintaining clinical records and participating in after-hours psychiatric emergency services serving the UF student community. The candidate’s impact will extend beyond direct student care as collaboration with various campus entities is integral to our mission to help every student achieve optimal health in the pursuit of personal and academic success. Guided by the Director of the SHCC, you'll operate with independence while collaborating closely with a talented team of medical professionals, including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This position is non-tenure accruing. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The Essential Functions of the positions are as follows: Assessment, Diagnosis, Treatment & Consultation Services: Provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication evaluation, treatment, follow-up care, and crisis intervention/emergency services for students with general mental health issues as well as those with trauma, eating disorders, alcohol/substance abuse issues. Provides psychiatric consultation services, as requested, to Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) therapy staff, Student Health Care Center (SHCC) medical providers, student groups, and faculty and staff within the UF community (i.e., Housing and Residence Education, Dean of Students Office, Disability Resource Center, RecSports, University Athletic Association, UF Police Department, etc.).
