Our client, a leading academic and clinical institution committed to serving diverse communities, is hiring a Outpatient Community Psychiatrist. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for a board-certified psychiatrist to provide vital outpatient mental health services within a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessments, treatment planning, and medication management, to adults in community and hospital discharge settings. The psychiatrist will play a key leadership role in overseeing clinical operations at the innovative Bridge to Home program, supporting patients transitioning from hospital to stable housing, and collaborating closely with a team of nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
- Administer and adjust psychopharmacological interventions based on patient needs.
- Lead clinical oversight and supervision of team members at the Bridge to Home residence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, treatment planning, and team meetings.
- Support onsite staff through occasional after-hours or weekend consultations.
- Promote recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches, ensuring holistic, person-centered care.
- Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to training and development activities within the department.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of post-residency clinical experience in outpatient psychiatry.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Valid New York State medical license, DEA, and Medicaid provider number.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, community mental health, or housing programs is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills and commitment to culturally competent care.
- Basic knowledge of psychopharmacology and assessment tools.
- Additional qualifications such as experience working with diverse populations, bilingual abilities, or familiarity with crisis intervention would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
