Our client, a leading academic medical center affiliated with a major university and serving a diverse urban community, is hiring a Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatrist. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity for board-certified or eligible child and adolescent psychiatrists to provide comprehensive outpatient mental health care in a vibrant, multicultural setting. The successful candidate will be integral to a multidisciplinary team within a renowned Department of Psychiatry, committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered services. The role encompasses direct clinical care, supervision of residents and trainees, and participation in educational initiatives, contributing to both community health and professional training.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric and adolescent patients.
- Provide ongoing outpatient psychiatric care, including medication management and psychotherapy as appropriate.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, educators, and social services staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor residents and trainees affiliated with the departments educational programs.
- Participate in teaching activities, case conferences, and quality improvement projects to foster clinical excellence and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in psychiatry, followed by fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Valid New York State medical license, Medicaid number, and DEA registration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills; experience with diverse populations is highly valued.
- CPEP rotations will be expected from candidates. Additional certifications or training in psychotherapy or crisis intervention are beneficial but not mandatory.
