He has authored more than 180 publications, delivered over 250 invited talks, co-developed the internationally adopted START NOW psychotherapy program, and serves in prominent leadership roles with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Hospital Association. Lead multidisciplinary collaboration with nursing, social work, therapy services, education specialists, and physician leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Oversee physician staffing, scheduling, call coverage, and provider performance while supporting professionalism and accountability.

Drive quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and Joint Commission and state quality metrics.

Lead interdisciplinary meetings, treatment reviews, and operational planning to improve patient outcomes and care delivery.

Partner with pediatric services, emergency medicine, behavioral health teams, and hospital leadership to optimize patient flow and continuity of care.

Support medical education through resident, fellow, and student teaching while promoting academic excellence.

Develop clinical protocols, program growth, address concerns shape direction of C&A Psychiatry services.

Successful completion of accredited residency in Psychiatry

Skilled in interpersonal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients and families.

One of the largest hospitals in the state, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 703-bed hospital with an additional 60-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The facility recently completed a large expansion project, adding a new Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery unit and the Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital complete with a Pediatric Emergency Room. Now in it's second century of providing premiere healthcare services, CRMH also features a Level I trauma center.
