Our client, a prestigious academic and healthcare institution dedicated to serving a diverse urban community, is hiring a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist. The Addiction Psychiatrist will play a crucial leadership role within a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality clinical care and contributing to the development of a newly launched Residency Training Program. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in outpatient addiction treatment settings.
- Provide consultation services to patients in hospital emergency departments, outpatient clinic and inpatient units.
- Prescribe and manage medications for individuals with substance use disorders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive treatment planning.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and refinement of educational curricula for residency training.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to residents and medical students.
- Participate in institutional committees and quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing addiction treatment and education.
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
- Valid New York State medical license, Medicaid number, and DEA registration.
- Demonstrated interest in medical education and curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Additional qualifications such as experience with diverse populations or research in addiction are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
