Description

Our client, a reputable healthcare provider serving a diverse community in Queens, is hiring a Full-Time ACT Psychiatrist. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide specialized psychiatric care within an assertive community treatment (ACT) program. The psychiatrist will be integral to a multidisciplinary team, overseeing client treatment plans, conducting psychiatric assessments, and coordinating medical care in a community setting. The position also includes responsibilities to mentor psychiatry residents and medical students, contributing to educational efforts at Queens Hospital Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychiatric assessment and ongoing treatment to patients in the community.
  • Monitor client progress and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Coordinate medical services with psychiatric treatment plans.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to residents and students as part of the hospital’s training programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements:.

  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Current New York State Medical License, Medicaid number, and DEA registration required.
  • Knowledge of the ACT model of care and community-based mental health treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Prior teaching or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Availability to practice full-time (32 hours in ACT and 8 hours in CPEP).
  • Willingness to work with a culturally diverse patient population.
