    Position Overview

    As a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker, you will work directly with participants to help them develop, enhance, and retain essential life skills. Through individual support and community engagement, you will empower individuals to achieve greater independence and pursue their personal recovery goals.

    You will play a vital role in helping participants strengthen their abilities in living, learning, working, and socializing while supporting access to services and resources that align with their preferences and needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Recovery & Rehabilitation Services

    • Provide psychiatric rehabilitation services in both program and community settings.
    • Support individuals in developing skills that promote independence, self-sufficiency, and community participation.
    • Help participants identify personal goals and create pathways to achieve them.
    • Encourage self-advocacy, wellness, and recovery-oriented decision-making by focusing on:
      • Life skills development
      • Social and interpersonal skills
      • Community integration
      • Independent living skills
      • Wellness and recovery
    • Foster a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and participation.

    Individualized Support & Case Coordination

    • Monitor participant progress and maintain an assigned caseload.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation plans.
    • Connect participants with appropriate community resources, services, and support.
    • Advocate for participant choice, strengths, and recovery goals.

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Complete timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation.
    • Maintain service records and progress notes in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
    • Utilize technology and electronic systems effectively to support service delivery.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • One of the following:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a related field; OR
      • Associate's Degree and one year of direct mental health service experience; OR
      • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification and one year of paid or volunteer experience; OR
      • High School Diploma/GED and two years of Human Services experience, including one year of direct mental health service experience.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage documentation in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong computer skills, including internet research and electronic documentation.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Knowledge of behavioral health services, supports, and community resources.

    Preferred

    • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) credential.
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Experience providing community-based behavioral health services.
    • Familiarity with recovery-oriented and psychiatric rehabilitation practices.

    Work Environment

    This position includes both office-based and community-based work and may require:

    • Frequent communication, active listening, and participant engagement
    • Local travel within the community
    • Use of public transportation and community resources
    • Lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, and other physical activities as needed
    • Participation in crisis intervention and emergency response situations
    • On-call coverage when applicable
    • Reporting to work during emergencies, including severe weather conditions
