Psychiatric Nursing Assistant PRN & Contract

Ambition 24 Hours Inc is building a pool of qualified Psychiatric Nursing Assistant candidates for upcoming assignments at state-operated facilities across Texas, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and an adolescent psychiatric treatment center. We are recruiting now so we can offer you work quickly as and when roles come in.

• PRN (as-needed) shifts to start
• Short-term and long-term contract assignments will also become available
• Flexible scheduling: pick up the shifts and assignments that suit you

Support nursing staff in providing safe, therapeutic care to individuals receiving psychiatric treatment.

• Observe patients and report changes in behavior or condition
• Assist with daily living activities, meals and hygiene
• Support de-escalation and maintain a safe unit environment
• Take part in therapeutic and recreational activities
• Document observations accurately

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting preferred; CNA certification preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to complete facility-approved de-escalation training
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, TB screening and any immunization requirements set by the facility
• Willingness to complete facility orientation and required training before your first shift

Hourly pay

• Day, Evening or Overnight shift (8 hours): $21.60 $25.20 per hour
• Weekend shift (8 hours): $23.40 $27.30 per hour
• Holiday: $32.40 $37.80 per hour

Your rate within each range depends on your experience, credentials and the assignment.

Shifts are 8 hours: Day (e.g. 7:00 AM 3:00 PM), Evening (e.g. 3:00 PM 11:00 PM) or Overnight (e.g. 11:00 PM 7:00 AM). Shift times vary by facility.

Holiday hours run from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the holiday.

Hours over 40 in a week are worked only when scheduled and approved by the facility in advance; approved overtime is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
