Pyramid Healthcare, a national leader in behavioral health and addiction treatment, is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (CRNP/PMHNP) to join our Outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Mental Health Treatment Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Position Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, medication management, care coordination, and ongoing treatment services for individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment. This role collaborates closely with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support high-quality, recovery-focused care while maintaining compliance with organizational, regulatory, and professional practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, reassessments, and clinical documentation.
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications within scope of practice.
- Review laboratory results and monitor medication-related treatment needs.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care providers, therapists, pharmacies, specialists, and other treatment partners.
- Support discharge planning, medication coordination, and continuity of care.
- Collaborate with clinical and nursing teams regarding treatment planning and medication management.
- Provide education and clinical support to staff regarding psychiatric, behavioral health, and medication-related concerns.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, peer review activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Complete required trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensure & Credentials
- Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) license.
- Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Board Certification.
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Prescriptive authority and credentials necessary to practice as a PMHNP in Pennsylvania.
Experience
- Two (2)+ years of experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
- Experience providing psychiatric medication management services preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and medication management.
- Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring disorders.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, CARF standards, OMHSAS, DDAP, and applicable behavioral health regulations.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to assess and respond appropriately during crisis situations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary treatment teams.
- Experience utilizing electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and clinical documentation systems.
