Location: New Haven, CT (Telehealth, in-person option available if preferred)


Schedule: Friday – Sat OR Fri  -- Sun (Flexible shift coverage)


Position Type: Contract / Per Diem


About the Role


We are seeking an experienced, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a dedicated weekend contract role (Friday through Saturday or Friday through Sunday). In this position, you will deliver high-quality psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical oversight to an outpatient population. This position is ideal for an autonomous clinician looking for a structured weekend schedule within a supportive behavioral health setting.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and risk reviews.

  • Formulate and execute evidence-based psychopharmacological treatment plans.

  • Provide ongoing medication management and monitor treatment efficacy and outcomes.

  • Maintain prompt, thorough, and compliant clinical documentation in the EMR.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary clinical team to coordinate multidisciplinary care pathways.

Qualifications & Requirements


  • Active, unencumbered Connecticut APRN license with PMHNP board certification (PMHNP-BC).

  • Valid CT Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) and DEA license.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience as a PMHNP in an outpatient behavioral health setting.

  • Strong diagnostic acumen, prescriptive practice skills, and independent clinical decision-making.

  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications (OPTIONAL)


  • Experience or clinical interest in interventional psychiatric modalities (e.g., Spravato®/esketamine protocols or TMS).
