We are seeking an experienced Senior Power System Applications (PSA) / EMS Engineer DTS with 6 8 years of experience in electric utility environments, specifically supporting Energy Management Systems (EMS), Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS), SCADA, and power system applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Client PowerOn Reliance (XA21), Client eTerra/AEMS platforms, or equivalent EMS platforms, along with expertise in power system applications, electrical transmission modeling, Linux/Windows environments, databases, scripting, and real-time utility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, optimize, and support Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) environments.
- Perform DTS model validation, event creation, testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
- Support EMS platforms such as Client PowerOn Reliance (XA21), Client eTerra/AEMS, or equivalent platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, or Schneider.
- Perform technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded EMS/DTS services.
- Analyze application logs, debug files, system issues, and performance problems to identify root causes.
- Perform code reviews, deployment, testing, monitoring, and validation of break/fix patches and application modifications.
- Install and validate software fixes and patches on live customer EMS environments.
- Support and troubleshoot power system applications including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, AGC/Load Frequency Control, and DTS.
- Work with Simulated RTUs, Simulated IEDs, and Operator Consoles within DTS environments.
- Support communication protocols including ICCP, IEC, DNP3, and Modbus.
- Perform data modeling and work with XML/JSON-based configurations and interfaces.
- Troubleshoot system integration issues across EMS, ADMS, SCADA, and related utility applications.
- Develop and maintain scripts and database queries for system configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and automation.
- Work across Linux and Windows operating environments.
- Support relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server.
- Collaborate with utility operations, application teams, developers, and infrastructure teams to resolve production issues.
Required Technical Skills
- 6 8 years of experience in Power System Applications / EMS / DTS engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) for EMS.
- Strong knowledge of Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Experience with Client PowerOn Reliance / XA21, Client eTerra/AEMS, or equivalent EMS platforms such as:

- Experience installing fixes and patches on live customer systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with QTest and GRIP tools.
- Experience supporting electric utility Transmission and Distribution environments.
- Knowledge of EMS/SCADA/ADMS architecture and real-time power grid operations.
- Experience with system integration and troubleshooting in mission-critical utility environments.
- Experience with automated testing and deployment processes.
