Job Summary: -Perform initial medical screening evaluations on patients presenting to the ED
Initiate diagnostic testing and treatment orders in accordance with protocols
Prioritize patient acuity and assist with throughput and patient flow
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and ED staff
Identify high-risk patients for immediate intervention
Document findings and care plans accurately in EPIC
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding next steps Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment at time of hire (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master''s Degree) (eligibility criteria for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA). Initial certification must be present at time of hire. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
DEA certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong clinical decision-making and multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred
Minimum 2 years'' experience as an APP
Graduate of a fellowship
Work Days:
12 hour shifts
