Description

Overview:

We're seeking disciplined, professional, and mission-focused individuals who are committed to protecting people, facilities, and critical government assets. Successful candidates will possess strong judgment, exceptional situational awareness, and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic security environment. 

Responsibilities:
  • Protect federal personnel, visitors, facilities, government property, and sensitive assets from unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, sabotage, and other security threats. 
  • Maintain a visible security presence and serve as a deterrent to criminal activity and security violations. 
  • Control access to facilities, restricted areas, and government property by verifying credentials, identification, and authorization status. 
  • Conduct personnel, vehicle, package, parcel, and facility inspections in accordance with established procedures and security requirements. 
  • Perform armed security patrols on foot and by vehicle to identify safety hazards, suspicious activity, and security vulnerabilities. 
  • Monitor and enforce access control procedures, security regulations, and facility policies. 
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, medical incidents, and security-related events in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with law enforcement, emergency responders, government personnel, and security leadership during incidents and emergencies. 
  • Exercise force, up to and including deadly force, when authorized and necessary in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, training, and use-of-force policies. 
  • Participate in Guard Mount activities and receive daily briefings, operational updates, and post assignments. 
  • Carry out general and special orders applicable to assigned posts and operational responsibilities. 
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, witness statements, and other required documentation. 
  • Operate radios, telephones, security systems, access control equipment, and other communications devices. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successfully pass background and drug screening.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience. 
  • Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Armed Security Officer Registration
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently, including the ability to interpret written directives, post orders, procedures, and training materials. 
  • Graduate of a recognized Federal, State, Local, Military Law Enforcement, Military Police, Security Forces, Corrections, or Physical Security Training Academy. 
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain all contract-required training and certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Three (3) or more years of experience protecting federal facilities, critical infrastructure, military installations, or high-security environments. 
  • Active Secret Security Clearance. 
  • Prior military police, security forces, corrections, federal protective services, or law enforcement experience. 
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of physical security principles, force protection measures, access control procedures, and protective security operations. 
  • Ability to maintain situational awareness and quickly assess potential threats, hazards, and suspicious activities. 
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, post orders, emergency response procedures, and use-of-force policies. 
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in stressful, rapidly changing, or emergency situations. 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions while protecting personnel, facilities, and government assets
