We're looking for a consultant of protection engineer or protection test engineer to be onsite at SRW01 offshore in US. S/he would be in 21/21 rotation scheme and to work closely with our protection lead (protection system engineer) in the project.
Further, the consultant is expected to be ambitious and self-driven to have a collaborative attitude, and to speak and write English fluently, as we operate in an international environment
All works are to be carried out in accordance with Company's internal processes. The consultant must follow all safety and compliance standards, including those related to electrical systems, environmental regulations, and workplace safety. In case of site visits, the consultant must bring his/her own work clothes and basic PPE. Training (including GWO certifications) is at the consultant's own expense unless otherwise agreed.

Description
The consultant is needed as complementary role to the rotation schedule we have in place to supervise all control and protection activities performed by our contractors on the OCS and to monitor the many interfaces with other system such as LV power supply system, CWC, FDS and ICMS in general. The role will work back-to-back with the protection lead (protection system engineer) in a 21/21 rotation scheme.
Main tasks:
To be based on OCS rotations.
Supervising the testing & commissioning of SIE AC Control and Protection system on OCS.
Supervising the testing & commissioning of SIE HVDC Control and Protection system on OCS
Supervising the testing & commissioning of OCS ICMS system.
Supervising the testing of signal integration between ONCS, OCS and GCC.
Witnessing SATs with Siemens / Aker for control and protection system.
Participating in daily/weekly progress meeting with OCS commissioning team
Site coordination between supplier and back-office `design team
Witnessing HVDC system tests at the OCS.
Drive finalisation of snag list close out with supplier in OCS
Supporting rsted commissioning team with other scope such as low voltage systems, CWC, FDS interfaces, etc.
Requirements
The consultant is expected to have:
an academic degree in electrical engineering
well-founded knowledge about protection systems, high-voltage equipment, LV, and utility interfaces and suppliers
Siemens HVDC equipment with great knowledge and experience (preferably)
knowledge of protection system functions and network architecture
experience with protection system setting calculation, coordination, and engineering tools
experience using the IEC 61850 communication protocol
A minimum of 1 year's offshore site experience OR a minimum of 3 years' onshore substation experience.
Valid GWO certificates.
