Property Tax Analyst - Austin

The Role:  This is where your property tax career begins.  As a Property Tax Analyst, you'll support the full annual tax cycle, including data, filings, notices, and appeal prep, and quickly build hands-on skills including tax software, jurisdictions, and valuation concepts that define this field.  You'll be mentored by former county appraisers, CPAs, and CMIs.  The company will sponsor and pay for your Texas tax consultant course work, license and continuing education which will give you a real path to becoming a Tax Consultant.

What you'll do:
  • Prepare annual renditions, returns, and exemption applications for clients nationwide using property tax software.
  • Analyze client-furnished asset data and review value notices to help determine what is taxable and whether an assessment should be appealed.
  • Assist with valuation models and hearing and appeal documentation.
  • Maintain the property tax database, tax calendar, client control files, and track deadlines across jurisdictions.
  • Review and approve tax statements for payment and coordinate with taxing authorities.
  • Research jurisdictional rules, deadlines, and filing requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • An internship and/or experience with platforms such as PTMS, ONESOURCE Property Tax is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with sharp attention to details and deadlines.
  • Willingness to pursue a Texas Property Tax Consultant license.
